Analysis of the remaining sales figures:

NPD monitors retail sales to obtain a decent idea of the best-selling video games from the previous month. Since April 2018, NPD has been tracking Steam (PC), Xbox Live, and PlayStation Network sales for the following major third-party publishers: Activision-Blizzard, Capcom, Deep Silver, Electronic Arts, Square Enix, Take-Two Interactive, Ubisoft, and Warner Bros.

Mat Piscatella, an NPD analyst, says…

He stated the following about the top video game sales:

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart debuted as June’s best-selling game, achieving the highest launch month dollar sales of any title in franchise history. Launch month dollar sales more than doubled those of the previous high, set by Ratchet & Clank in April 2016

Mario Golf: Super Rush debuted in June 2021 as the third best-selling game. The game’s first month’s dollar sales were the biggest ever for a Mario Golf game. Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, released in July 2003 for the Nintendo GameCube, established the previous record.

On the June best-selling titles list, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 went from #51 in May to #17. During the month, the Switch version of the game was launched in the United States, accounting for the majority of the gains.

The June release of the A Pirate’s Life content update pushed Sea of Thieves back into the top 20 best-sellers list, from 36th a month earlier. Sea of Thieves was first released in March of 2018.

He stated the following about video gaming accessories:

Spending on video game accessories dropped 1% year over year in June 2021, to $207 million. When compared to the same time in 2020, accessory sales in the first half totaled $1.2 billion, up 14%.

The Sony DualSense Wireless Controller Midnight Black was the best-selling accessory in June 2021, whereas the DualSense Wireless Controller White was the best-selling item in the first half of the year. DualSense Wireless Controllers were three of the top four best-selling accessories in June.
