Frequently Asked Questions

What did Nintendo announce today?

If you’ve been living under a rock, then you probably missed the big E3 announcements on June 12 and 13. Big titles like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Pokemon Lets Go, and Super Mario Odyssey were all confirmed, and they will be making very big first-person games, which will be released in the 2020’s. Nintendo’s E3 2019 press conference yesterday was relatively quiet, but it was full of announcements for platforms we’ve been waiting for, and some new games we’ve been patiently awaiting since the past couple of years. The biggest announcements came in the form of the direct itself, the nine minutes and eleven second long Nintendo Direct that revealed announcements for a new Mario Tennis title, Splatoon 3, a new Yoshi game, and the first details on the mysterious Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC.

Did Nintendo announce a new switch?

As we all know, the Nintendo Switch is a home and handheld console that’s capable of playing games on the go. A new one was officially unveiled today, but many fans are wondering if there’s going to be a new model in the works, and if it’s possible to make the original Switch obsolete. Nintendo’s direct-feed E3 coverage will stream live on July 11th, and that means we’ll have an opportunity to see what the company has to announce during the big-dog Nintendo Direct that follows. Will we finally get the next-gen console that Nintendo Switch fans have been clamoring for? Will it be the same console the company has been promising since last year, or something completely new? Will we get new games? Will we get a new Pokemon game? Will the company announce a name for the next console, as well?

Will Nintendo have an E3 direct?

E3 is the gaming industry’s biggest annual event, and it typically reveals the biggest games of the year. From the past few years, several announcements have occurred during the press conferences themselves: Sony announcing the Spider-Man PS4 game, Microsoft announcing the modern-day Splatoon’s sequel, and Nintendo announcing a new Switch console. With the 2018 version of E3 coming up, there’s no telling if Nintendo will follow in the footsteps of the previous E3 events, but it is expected that there will be some big announcements. Nintendo is expected to have a significant presence at E3 in June 2021. The company has already confirmed that it will have a conference at the event. The company has said that it will use the conference to show off “a variety of new games and content”, which fans will be able to see for the first time. This will include the announcement of several new titles as well as details on the new Nintendo Switch.
