In the Japanese version of the game, the final battle is a rather lengthy affair that gives you a chance to prepare and dodge incoming fire from a large number of ships. In the English version, the battle begins almost immediately and instead of a lengthy cinematic, the player is given a cutscene of a battle between a Japanese and Russian destroyer. Along with this, the English version has a few different lines of dialogue from the characters in the scene.

The Directors Cut of Ghost Of Tsushima is an update of one of the greatest games of 2020, with PS5 improvements and a new Ike Island locale where we learn more about Jin’s connection with his father. If you liked Ghost of Tsushima, this is more of the same in all its splendor; if you have a PlayStation and haven’t played Ghost of Tsushima, get on it right now.
Ghost Of Tsushima arrived towards the conclusion of the PlayStation 4’s lifespan, displaying stunning visuals, superb fighting, and being one of the finest open-world adventures of the previous generation consoles. Sucker Punch has returned with not just new content for Ike Island, but also a PS5 update package that brings it up to par with other current-gen games, featuring 60 frames per second, haptic feedback, and improved audio. As a result, Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut is the only method to play the game. If you don’t have a PS5, don’t panic; the expansion is also available on PS4, albeit without the PS5’s enhanced quality of life.
4K resolution at 60 frames per second is included in the PlayStation 5 upgrades. The controller has haptic feedback, as well as some excellent audio improvements, such as the sound of sword battles coming from the controller. When galloping on your horse, you can feel the ground under the horse’s feet, which is haptic input. It’s also encouraging to see creators adopt this technology, since it has a significant impact on immersion. The game already had a 60 frames per second update, but this set of enhancements takes it to the next level. The platform improvements are fantastic, but I’m most excited about the content growth.
Ike Island, a tiny island off the mainland, will be the new site for the expansion. Once you’ve completed the first act of the main game, you’ll be able to visit Ike Island and its narrative. There are a lot of narrative missions, exploration, armor upgrades, new abilities, and more, and the layout is quite similar to the main game. The tale itself is excellent, and you learn a great deal about Jin’s father’s relationship. However, Jin’s father was murdered on Ike Island, thus the primary game centered on Jin’s connection with his uncle.
Jin is viewed as a Samurai invader in comparison to the invaders of Ike Island, thus the narrative plays with perceptions. The Eagle, the expansion’s new adversary, poisons Jin early on, causing him to experience images of friends and relatives. These visions are a fantastic way to add depth to the narrative, and Sucker Punch has done an excellent job with them. The expansion’s main flaw is that it’s very short and can be finished in a few hours. This world fascinates me, and I’d want to spend more time here.
If you played on the PS4 and now wish to upgrade to the PS5, save transfers are simple and quick. One of the issues I experienced was with upgrading and the packages that were offered. I’m playing on PS5, and I’ve also completed the original on PS5. The PS5 upgrade and Directors Cut Expansion weren’t available until launch day, and I had to insert the disk into the PS5 for the correct version to be disclosed. Then, when I first began playing the game, I chose to continue, which restarted me from the beginning. I quickly exited out, moved my save, and resumed where I left off, thinking I’d lost everything. If I had to sum it up, the upgrade and save transfer procedure from PS4 to PS5 is a bit too complex, and I’d want to see something simpler.
New Legends content is available in addition to the single-player expansion. A Legends Rival mode will be available starting September 3rd, 2020, in which two teams fight to wipe out swarms of foes, with the option to spend money to make things difficult for your opponents. The Legends mode adds a huge lot of replayability to Ghost of Tsushima, particularly if you’ve previously completed the main campaign and are working your way through the expansion.
The Director’s Cut of Ghost of Tsushima is the only method to play the game. The new narrative material is excellent, though a bit short. The new Legends mode will add a lot of replayability to the game, and the PlayStation 5 improvements will make an already gorgeous game even more so. With Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch has set the bar very high. First and foremost, you should play this game, as well as the expansion, and then wait to see what Sucker Punch comes up with next. This is a must-play if you own a PlayStation 5.
