The new story campaign for Bungie’s Destiny 2, titled The Curse of Osiris, arrives on December 5. The campaign introduces Cayde-6, who is the seer of the Vanguard, the Guardians’ ranking system. Cayde-6 is a big deal. He’s your man in the tower, the one who hands over bounties to players, and he’s always looking out for you. Cayde-6 is also a big deal in the Destiny 2 story. He’s the one who tells Guardians that someone is summoning them to the moon. He’s the one who has to get rid of the Kell, the mysterious being who’s draining the light from the world. And

It’s been a year since Destiny 2 released, and the sequel is finally upon us. The wait has been long, but it’s been filled with a lot of promise for what Destiny is going to be in the future. Tomorrow, Bungie will reveal a new expansion for this year, titled Forsaken, which is being touted as being a darker, more “adult” expansion. But will it live up to the hype?

Destiny 2 has been in the works for over 6 years. Developed by Bungie, the studio behind Halo, Destiny is an online-only shooter with RPG elements. Set in the future, the game is distinguished by its sci-fi setting, cinematic dialogue and innovative gear. The game’s protagonist is one of the last humans left after an alien invasion. The game has a powerful story with memorable characters, telling an epic tale of survival.

The future of Destiny 2 has never looked brighter as it enters its fifth year. That isn’t simply due to the Witch Queen expansion’s insane Hive suddenly harnessing the Light. No, it was only one of the many shocking revelations made at Bungie’s most recent presentation.

Since The Taken King, we haven’t been this eager about Destiny DLC, and this seems like the long-awaited sequel to that popular expansion. If you have the time, it’s worth watching the whole movie simply to ride the thrill generated by The Witch Queen’s revelation. If you’re simply looking for the juicy stuff, here’s everything you can anticipate from Destiny 2’s next DLC release, The Witch Queen.

When Is The Witch Queen Expansion Going To Be Available?

Witch Queen Release Date Bungie Inc. image

We all knew The Witch Queen’s expansion would be postponed until early 2022 owing to development issues caused by remote work. The Witch Queen will be released on February 22, 2022, according to the official release date. This, like every other new piece of Destiny 2 content, will be released on the weekly reset on Tuesdays.

It’s difficult to tell when the expansion will go live, but we can probably anticipate a clear deployment plan to start in January. For the time being, you may preorder The Witch Queen from your preferred platform shop or through the Bungie Store directly. Let’s take a closer look at what to anticipate from this expansion.

The Arrival of Savathun Marks the Beginning of a New Chapter

The Taken King, Savathun Bungie Inc. image

Savathun, the Taken King’s seductive and cunning sister, has been teased for years. Her presence has become increasingly palpable throughout the course of the 2021 seasons, beginning with Season of the Hunt. Of course, she has been unveiled in all of her horrific crystalized splendor in the most recent seasonal addition, Season of the Lost.

Our new foe is made much more terrifying by the teaser trailer. Savathun is a staggering 21 feet tall and has terrifying moth-like wings, making him one of the most terrifying foes we’ve ever encountered. Oh, and we’re assisting her this season, which seems like a terrible idea based on what we’ve seen thus far.

New Address

New Location Witch Queen Bungie Inc. image

The Witch Queen, like every other addition in Destiny 2, introduces a new setting. We met Europa in Beyond Light, and now it’s time to visit Savathun’s Home World. This is most likely linked to the planet where the Hive began, according to people acquainted with the Destiny 2 narrative. In a nutshell, it’s a pocket realm created by Hive gods that renders them unkillable in our regular world (similar to the Awoken). If you kill them inside their Throne World, however, they lose that ability permanently.

It’s a location unlike any other we’ve seen in Destiny 2. The development team describes it as a “uncharted wonderland of secrets and deceit.” The habitat is marshy, gaseous, and densely populated with animals. A wrecked Darkness Pyramid may also be found right outside her main castle (anyone looking for a new Raid location?). The castle itself is vast and enormous, with towering entranceways, platforming portions, and a plethora of mysteries to be discovered.

Difficulty of Legend

Legendary Difficulty Bungie Inc. image

In terms of what’s new, campaign missions now have a new Legendary difficulty. Players will have the option to play on this tougher level from the start or while repeating missions from your map. While there haven’t been any real particular modifiers disclosed,

The Legendary mode will include harder, more powerful monsters, more restricted respawn locations, and difficulty scaling according on your party size, according to Bungie. And, like with everything in Destiny 2, the leveling increase and unique prizes will be well worth the effort.

Hive Guardians, New Enemies

Hive Guardians Bungie Inc. image

We also have a new opponent class to go along with all of the new narrative components. It’s not a new race; rather, it’s a significant improvement to the Hive. The Light-infused Hive Guardians have arrived.

You read it correctly: Savathun has managed to harness the Light and revive her minions using Hive Ghosts. With archetypes from the Titan, Warlock, and Hunter classes present, these enhanced Hive foes even grabbed our attention. That’s correct, Hive is now smashing Void barriers, conjuring Arc lightning storms, and even hurling burning blades at us.

There hasn’t been anything more disclosed about these new warped Guardians. The good news is that we can kill them effectively by smashing their Ghosts in a gratifying manner.

Unusual Weapon Type

New Weapon Type Glaive Bungie Inc. image

We’ll need some lethal weaponry to deal with this new danger. The Witch Queen, in this instance, introduces a new weapon archetype in the shape of a Glaive. This spear-like weapon has a massive blade at the end, making it the game’s second bladed combat weapon. Unlike Swords, though, the Glaive is an Energy weapon.

That’s correct, you won’t have to use one of your Power slots for this. While you wield it, it will not place you in third person, instead choosing for the normal first-person perspective when fighting. In addition to being an excellent melee weapon, it also shoots energy bullets, extending its range and utility.

The last thing to know about this new weapon is that it will not be available as a whole product. Specific components that you may use to put it together will be earned, discovered, and eventually unlocked. In fact, this weapon is the first in Destiny 2 to use a new system.

Making Weapons

New Weapon Crafting Destiny 2 Bungie Inc. image

That’s correct, Destiny 2 will include weapon building. This new, yet familiar, structure will replace Umbral Engrams, making it more strategic to pursue and obtain particular positions. So, rather of playing randomized Engrams and hoping for particular things, you may now select your own choices.

This method will be followed by the new Glaive, any Throne World weaponry, and even Season 16 exclusives. You’ll also be able to improve your weaponry by adding particular Mods and Shaders, which you may level up as you go. In general, the more you use a weapon, the better it becomes. We don’t sure precisely how this crafting system will function right now, but as the seasons continue in 2022, it’s anticipated to grow to include any new weaponry as well as old favorites.

Changes to the Subclass

Subclass Changes Bungie Inc. image

The addition of a new Darkness Subclass was something that everyone was looking forward to with this expansion. Unfortunately, updating the Light Subclasses to be more in line with Stasis’ Shards and Aspects structure is not going to happen. This is an essential compromise that will allow you to personalize and play your Light-based Subclasses in new ways.

These upgrades will take place throughout the course of 2022, beginning with Void. This upgrade, like Stasis, will include three new effects that are exclusive to Void: suppression, weaken, and volatile. Furthermore, it will bring a plethora of new features, choices, and general improvements that will enable you to personalize how you play Void.

You may even create a subclass that closely resembles one of the three skill trees from the beginning. You may even use a sentient black hole to consume opponent energy if you’re a Warlock. It is entirely up to you and how much you want to try new things.

This first update is set to debut in The Witch Queen expansion. Future seasonal upgrades will include modifications to the Arc and Solar subclasses.

Dungeons and Raids

New raids and dungeons Bungie Inc. image

With the Witch Queen addition, you’ll be able to participate in a new Raid that takes you within a Darkness Pyramid. Apart from an ancient evil imprisoned inside the ship, nothing more is known about what we’ll be up against. What we do know is that, in addition to the first Raid, each season will provide a new Raid or Dungeon.

Along with The Witch Queen Raid, we’ll be receiving two new Dungeons and a replayed classic Destiny Raid in 2022. Bungie is also introducing weekly Raid and Dungeon rotations, which will provide unique challenges and rewards in both old and new PvE content.

Finally, Conflict Eternal, a new six-player action, will be included in the expansion. This will most likely be similar to Season of the Splicer’s Override mode or Season of the Chosen’s Battlegrounds activities.

Bungie’s 30th Anniversary is being commemorated.

30th Anniversary event Bungie Inc. image

Bungie also announced a 30th Anniversary event in December to tide us over till The Witch Queen expansion is released. This will include both free and paid content that honors their past as well as the legacy of games like Halo, Marathon, Myth, and, of course, Destiny. The celebrations will begin with a free six-player matchmade action in which participants will uncover mysteries and earn special gear.

The paid expansion is now the most interesting aspect of this. It features a new pirate-themed Dungeon based on the Cosmodrome’s famed treasure cave. This Dungeon will have new difficult challenges as well as the opportunity to acquire a Thorn-themed piece of armor as well as other undiscovered mysteries.

The reappearance of the Gjallarhorn, which can be unlocked by completing an unique Dungeon Quest, was, of course, the greatest surprise. By completing more of the Dungeon’s tasks, you’ll be able to acquire and equip the new Catalyst for the famous Rocket Launcher.

You’ll also get a set of Marathon and Bungie 30th Anniversary clothing ornaments, as well as a set of Destiny 1 weaponry. Exotic decorations, ships, Sparrows, Shaders, Emotes, and other weaponry inspired by past Bungie games will also be available. There are also reports of a Halo-inspired level and armor sets, but nothing has been confirmed. We’ll have to wait and see whether it holds true after the expansion is out.
