Black Library Author Dan Abnett Confirmed as Co-Writer
Dan Abnett, author of Black Library , known for his work on the Ghosts of Gaunt and Eisenhorn book series, has been confirmed as -co-screenwriter of Fatshark’s upcoming Warhammer 40,000 cooperative first-person shooter : Darktide. In a video released today at the Warhammer Skulls Showcase, Dan Abnett talked about his approach to writing in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, and developer Fatshark had more to say about the hive city of Tertius and the player’s interaction with the Inquisition. In Darktide, we decided to focus on humans, because humans are the heart and soul of the whole 40k universe, and playing as a human really emphasizes vulnerability, an aspect of survival horror, says Abnett. He believes that the human perspective is often the most interesting and insightful in the universe. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide can be played with up to three friends, and the sense of vulnerability is meant to encourage teamwork, but doesn’t completely prevent individual players from being crucial in certain situations. The game takes place in the hive city of Tertium, located on the planet Atoma Prime. You begin the game as a prisoner who is eventually recruited by the Inquisition. To gain the trust of the Inquisition, you must complete assignments. You get there halfway by switching to a task board where you are given various options to prove your worth to the Inquisition, explains Stephen Bigras, executive producer of . If you survive, you will return to the center where you will continue this process and gain more and more confidence, which will open up new possibilities. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is scheduled for release in 2021 on PC and Xbox X/S series. Follow video game news on Twitter , watch our videos on YouTube, like us on Facebook and join us on Discord.
