Apex Legends Season 12: Everything You Need to Know

It’s that time of year once again. Everyone’s favorite battle royale has gotten a new season, which comes with a slew of new content and re-balances! Even though we aren’t receiving a completely new map or weaponry, there is still a lot of stuff to go through today.

So, just what has changed? What changes has Respawn made to Olympus? What are the skills of the new legend? How about that time-limited mode? Has the legends and weaponry meta been altered in any way?

In this post, Apex Legends Season 12: Everything You Need to Know, I’ll address all of your burning questions and more! Let’s get started without further ado.

Changes to the Map: Olympus

This season, we’ve got some new map updates to go through, as usual! This season, Olympus–the floating metropolis in the sky–got a new coat of paint.

The brand new skybox will be the first thing you see when you first spawn in! The city has been relocated to a new place and now flies above hundreds of skyscrapers and other buildings. This, in my perspective, is a huge improvement. I figured we’d have something similar to what we have today before Olympus made its appearance. It’s starting to feel like a city!

In terms of places of interest, there are two in particular that I’d like to discuss. Phase Driver is a fresh new establishment located between Bonsai Plaza and Hydroponics. You should observe a large circular building with a control panel on one side when you arrive. When you activate that control panel, a large phase breach will appear above you, dumping loot boxes for you and your team to gather!

Terminal is the next new site, and it’s located to the north of Phase Driver. It’s immediately underneath the Phase Runner, which you may use to navigate the map. This makes it simpler to rotate across the rings since you don’t have to travel all the way around the Phase Runner this way.

Mad Maggie is a new legend.

Season 12 of Apex Legends brings a returning figure from Apex history, continuing the practice of introducing a completely new legend every season. Mad Maggie is a character from the Season 8 comic.

She and Fuse had a really intense rivalry in this comic. She thought Fuse’s choice to participate in the Apex Games was treasonous against her home world Salvo. She seemed to perish from a steep fall at the conclusion of the comic. Maggie has been condemned to enter the arena for her crimes against the Syndicate, notwithstanding her loss.

But enough with her past; let’s get to the meat and potatoes of Mad Maggie, which is presumably what you’re most interested in. Her skillset!

“Warlord’s Ire,” Maggie’s passive ability, is named after her. When she wields a shotgun, it is a weapon-based ability that enables her to travel quicker. When you damage an adversary, they become visible for a brief time! This lets you and your crew to see past barriers, making it simpler to hunt them down.

Tactical: Mad Maggie can launch a contraption that drills through walls and causes fire damage to adversaries on the opposite side of the wall for her tactical, “Riot Drill.” This drill can break through almost every wall in the game. It can even break through certain legends’ powers (Gibrealta’s Dome, Rampart’s Amped Cover, and so on).

This is an excellent item for breach and clear operations since it enables her to deliver damage to hostile players crammed into tight spaces. It doesn’t deal much harm at first, but if players don’t get out of the path quickly enough, it may be fatal. It’s a camper’s worst fear come true.

Ultimate: “Wrecking Ball,” her ultimate power, is a contraption that fires forth blue pads onto the ground. Maggie and her colleagues will earn a speed boost if they walk over them! The Wrecking Ball may also be utilized to inflict damage on foes while also inflicting a concussion effect. As a result, it may be used for both pushing and falling back.

Control is a new LTM.

With the start of Season 12, a completely new limited-time mode was introduced! While it isn’t a permanent new mode like Arenas, it is a fresh and original take on the Apex Legends model. The game mode will be accessible until March 1st, so you still have time to test it out before it disappears.

Control is quite similar to Call of Duty’s Domination. Two nine-player teams spawn on opposing sides of the map with the goal of conquering three separate control points. To win the game, you don’t have to control all three at the same time.

Rather, after your team has taken possession of a control point, you will gradually accumulate points. The more places on the map you control, the more points you get. When you reach a certain number of points, the game is over, and you and your team have won!

At the start of the game, you have the option of selecting one of several pre-made load-outs. Despite the fact that it is a 9v9 game, you are still placed in a “squad” with two other players. The only limitation to which legend you can choose is what your squadmates are playing.

This implies that the other two teams with whom you’ve been partnered may share your tale! For example, for maximum defensive strength, your side may place three Ramparts on the battlefield. Unfortunately, you are unable to speak with players who are not members of your team, making cooperation almost difficult.

Weapon & Legend Re-Balences

In Apex Legends Season 12, Respawn has made significant modifications to the weapon and legend meta, as many players predicted. The care package’s weapons have been changed in and out. New hop-ups have been added, and old ones have been adjusted. Legends that needed to be revised have been reworked. There’s a lot more to talk about, so let’s get started!

Changes in Weaponry

While no new weapons have been introduced to the game, there have been a few intriguing modifications to keep weapon spawns interesting. After its time in the care box, the Alternator SMG has returned to ground loot. The Disrupter’s hop-up has been deleted, and the damage output has returned to pre-care package levels.

The Volt SMG replaces the Alternator in the care package, with increased damage and magazine capacity. Its damage per shot has increased to 17 from 15, and its mag size has increased to 30 from 28.

On the ground, the VK-47 Flatline and the Longbow DMR are no longer available. You’ll need to locate a Replicator and manually build one of these weapons if you want to utilize them. Each weapon will cost 30 crafting resources, which isn’t awful considering the quality of the weaponry.

Hammerpoint Rounds have made a comeback as a fair hop-up! This tweak enables users to do more damage to a target that isn’t protected. The p2020 pistol, the Mozambique shotgun, and, for the first time, the RE-45 automatic pistol are among the weapons it works with.

This season also includes a totally new hop-up dubbed “Kinetic Feeder.” Only the Trippletake and the Peacekeeper are affected by this. When you slide across the map with one, the choke charges up significantly quicker, and the pistol reloads itself!

Re-Balances the Legend

Survalence Expert Crypto, one of the most underappreciated legends in the game, has finally received a much-needed buff. While it may not be the Off The Grid passive that many had hoped for, there are enough tweaks to make him more playable.

Many changes were made to the UI while utilizing Crypto’s drone. When in drone mode, these updates enable you to view the mini-map, the drone’s health, pings, and other valuable information. Changes to his drone’s functionality include the ability to send it out in a straight path automatically if you hit the tactical button. If his drone comes to a halt against a wall, it will do a 180-degree spin and face the other way.

While these are all positive things, I can’t help but think they should have done more. I doubt they won’t improve him again in the future, so I believe these boosts will enough for the time being.

Be a part of the High Ground
